A non-custodial BitPay alternative
NormiePay is a BitPay alternative for merchants who want USDC payments without account approvals, settlement accounts or custody. Payments settle on-chain to your own wallet through a smart contract, so there is no processor balance and nothing to withdraw.
| NormiePay | BitPay | |
|---|---|---|
| Custody of funds | Non-custodial — a smart contract pays your wallet directly | Custodial — settles via BitPay |
| Onboarding | Add a wallet and go — no approval | Business verification / approval |
| Assets | USDC on Base & Polygon (customer picks at checkout) | Multiple coins, fiat settlement option |
| Over/underpayment | Automatic on-chain refund of over/underpayments | Handled by processor rules |
| Fees | Flat 2% (3.5% on Telegram/Discord memberships), no monthly fee | ~1% plus network / settlement |
| KYC to pay | None to pay — any self-custody wallet works | Varies by flow |
No approvals, no settlement account
BitPay runs merchant onboarding and settlement through its own accounts. NormiePay skips all of it — connect an EVM payout wallet, create a payment link or checkout session, and you are live. There is no processor holding funds between the sale and your payout.
Predictable stablecoin revenue
Accept USDC and keep USDC. Payments are dollar-denominated and settle instantly on Base or Polygon, so you are not exposed to coin volatility or waiting on a fiat settlement cycle.
FAQ
Do I need to apply or get approved to use NormiePay?
No. There is no merchant approval process — add a payout wallet in Settings and you can create payment links and checkout sessions immediately.
Does NormiePay settle to fiat like BitPay?
No — NormiePay settles in USDC directly to your self-custody wallet. You keep a dollar-pegged stablecoin and can off-ramp it wherever you like.
Are there chargebacks?
No. On-chain settlement is final, so there are no chargebacks or payment reversals to dispute.
